The Revised Version (British and American) in Matthew 26:69; John 18:17; Acts 12:13; Acts 16:16 gives "maid" for παιδίσκη , paidı́skē , "a girl," i.e. (spec.) a maidservant or young female slave (the King James Version "damsel"), and "child" for παιδίον , paidı́on , "a half-grown boy or girl," in Mark 5:39 , Mark 5:40 bis. 41.
